TOURS AND TASTINGS
A HERITAGE IN PERPETUAL MOTION
Château Philippe le Hardi is a special place, both on account of its remarkable architecture and its history, which has been intertwined with that of Burgundy’s wines for two thousand years.
Having passed through the imposing wrought iron gates, the visitor cannot help but fall under the spell of the Château’s vast inner courtyard and moat, the splendid glazed tiles, and the majestic plane trees planted in 1599. A remarkable journey through time…
Another unusual aspect of the Château is that, unlike the Clos de Vougeot or the Hôtel-Dieu, it is not a museum but a model of living heritage: there is always a vintage in the process of production, accompanied by work in the vineyard, the cellar and the winery. Everything remains authentic at the Château: the work and life continues… and we also drink fine wines on suitable occasions, such as the end of the harvests.
